Why Kappa Sigma?

Belonging to a fraternity offers many advantages. We realize that your first purpose for coming to University is to obtain an education. We also realize that a University education encompasses more than academics and that the ability to deal and live with people is a demand that will be made on you for the rest of your life. As a well rounded man you must merge a solid academic background with intellectual and social maturity, and with confidence in yourself to deal with the problems that will face you in later years. Kappa Sigma is a very unique fraternity because we provide an environment that will encourage you to strive for academic excellence, while at the same time discovering new social horizons in a variety of campus settings. Our fraternity is involved in enhancing scholastic achievement, hosting social events, developing men into tomorrow's leaders, participating in sporting events, and much more. A fraternity gets you involved, which helps you to develop different skills. It also allows you to develop contacts with other students, and a variety of alumni involved in all areas of the business world. However, people join all types of organizations for many different reasons. Most of our members joined Kappa Sigma because they enjoyed the events, liked the people they met, and felt that our chapter had the best to offer them at this important time in their life. You will also become part of a larger network of over 220 chapters and 200,000 members across North America.

Scholarship

Kappa Sigma offers more programs to improve your educational experience and sponsors the largest scholarship awards program in the fraternal world. Kappa Sigma strongly encourages its chapters and brothers to maintain the highest of academic standards. Chapters and individuals that excel academically are recognized at local, regional and international conferences through the fraternity's extensive scholastic awards programs. Kappa Sigma Fraternity sponsors the largest scholarship awards program in the fraternal world, awarding $100,000 in scholarships each year. Scholarships are given for excellence in scholarship and leadership on campus. Awards range from Certificates of Merit to $250 awards, $500 awards, and $1,000 Endowed Named Scholarships.

Involvement

The Brothers of Kappa Sigma credit themselves to our fraternity, campus and community. The fraternity encourages and provides opportunities for brothers to pursue their interests and strengths both inside and outside the chapter. No man or fraternity is an island. Just as a brother is part of the greater whole that is the fraternity chapter, the chapter is part of the greater whole of the campus and community. That's why Kappa Sigma's are actively involved on campus and in the local community. Involvement can include being active in other campus organizations, playing on intramural sport teams, cleaning up a city park or sponsoring a social or educational event for the campus. Your involvement can make a difference. Kappa Sigma can help you get involved.

Social

Part of becoming a socially mature adult involves interaction with those around you, and Kappa Sigma holds social events throughout the course of the school year to aid in that development. Each social event we hold optimizes enjoyment and reduces risk.

Kappa Sigma Fraternity is one of the largest fraternities throughout America. With many active Brothers and countless amount of alumni, it's no wonder why Kappa Sigma is the best fraternity on campus. Kappa Sigma consists of diverse members who all have something to offer. Each member has the opportunity to contribute a great deal. The members of Kappa Sigma participate in all of the many school organizations from Student Government to Interfraternity athletics.
